Nigerian Caught In USA After 20years Of Dead Man's Identity Claim

The man whose picture appear above is Mr Bimbo Olumuyiwa Oyewole as you might have guessed, he is a Nigerian. The gist is, Mr Bimbo have been working as airport security supervisor at Newark Liberty International Airport, with another man's (Mr Jerry Thomas) identity who was actually a victim of murderer in the year 1992 which is approximately 20 years ago. Mr. Bimbo started using the deceased identity the same year after he was killed...Mr Bimbo was arrested yesterday May 14th 2012 after an anonymous tip to the port authority.
He IS yet to tell the police how he got the identity. Na wa ooooo

Professor Adetokunbo Sofoluwe, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos has died of cardiac arrest.

The 62-year old professor was rushed to the University of Lagos Health Centre last night from the Faculty of Sciences and as his condition got worse, he was then transferred to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital Idi-Araba where he was pronounced dead early this morning.
Sofoluwe who was known for his remarkable transformation of the institution showed no sign of any kind of illness on Tuesday when he addressed the institution at the press conference marking the Golden anniversary of the University where he also attended for his first degree.
The school is yet to issue any statement over the death of the Professor.

A big controversy is raging in Lagos following the birth of a baby boy said to be clutching a miniature Holy Quran at birth. The baby was born at a white garment church in Mushin, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria. While some dispute the claim, others say it is possible. A large crowd gathered at 1, Sonde Street, Ijeshate...do, Lagos home of the boy’s parents yesterday, as news of the birth spread rapidly. His mother, Mrs. Kikelomo Ilori, 32, a Cosmetologist, told P.M.NEWS that he was born on Monday after she had carried the pregnancy for about 10 months. The single mother claimed she was abandoned by her husband who denied responsibility for the pregnancy and encouraged her to abort it. The woman told P.M.NEWS yesterday: “When I refused to abort the pregnancy, he deserted me, saying ‘that is your own problem’.” Mrs. Ilori expressed surprise at the birth of the boy. She added that the nurse who delivered her of the baby was physically challenged, but went about it commendably. “When my baby was delivered holding a Quran in his hand, the nurse said the Quran should be thrown away. UNILAG to introduce Terrorism and Security Studies

In view of the security challenges across the country, with bombings and attacks by fundamentalist sects, the University of Lagos UNILAG is concluding plans to start programmes in terrorism and security studies.
This was disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Adetokunbo Sofoluwe at a press briefing to flag off the institution’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
According to him, the proposed department will help in research and training to tackle the menace.
Professor Sofoluwe also noted that the University is being positioned to be one of the first 100 universities in the world, as it marks its golden jubilee.
UNILAG was established in 1962.

Police defuses two bombs at Bayero University Kano

An attempt to kill and destroy was thankfully averted at the old campus of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) as the police uncovered three multiple high calibre time bombs planted in three locations of the campus this morning.
The bombs were found at the Faculty of Science, Sports Complex and in front of the Sub-Dean’s office, Faculty of Law of the school.
Upon discovery of the bomb, the police was alerted and quickly deployed its men to the scene. People around the area were evacuated to safety, however, the action caused confusion on the campus as students, lecturers and non-academic staff were seen running out of the campus.
Today’s incident is the second in recent weeks as similar high calibre bombs was uncovered two weeks ago at the Sociology Department of the institution.
