TMZ got hold of information about an arrest made back in August involving the R&B hitmaker Trey Songz . Trey, whosereal name is Tremaine Neverson, reportedly threw a wad of dollar bills at a woman and was arrested for assault.
The incident occurred at the singer's album release party back on August 22, at a gentlemen's club in Queens, New York. According to the reports, sometime between 4:00 and 4:15 a.m., Trey was involved in altercation outside the venue. The cops described the incident this way in the criminal complaint:
"Tremaine Neverson, did throw a sum of United States currency at the complainant and said sum of United States currency struck the complainant's left eye causing substantial pain to her left eye."
The victim, named Donna McIntosh-Inoe, 36, told the NY Daily News that the artist threw "a wad of cash" at her way so hard that it left her with a black eye. McIntosh-Inoe said:
"He chucked a wad of cash at me. A wad of cash. I didn't even know I had a bruise on my face until after I left the club. I had to walk around a whole week with a black eye."
NY Daily further reported:
McIntosh-Inoe, a nurse, said the spat began when she snapped a cell phone picture of Songz, who quickly grabbed the phone and tried to delete the photograph.
"Everyone else was taking a picture," she said. "The difference for me and the other girls is that they were naked and I had clothes on."
But the frustrated Songz couldn't trash the picture, so he threw the money at her face instead.
"He tried to delete the picture, but he didn't know how to usemy phone," she said. McIntosh-Inoe said she couldn't bring herself to pick up the discarded greenbacks.
"It was insulting that he just threw something," she said. "Hewas verbally disrespectful as well. . . . He embarrassed me infront of everyone in the club."
According to the spokeswoman for Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, Trey was not arrested that night, but was apprehended a month later, September 20, for misdemeanor assault and harassment charges. Songz appeared in court on November 1, and an order of protection was issued, leaving a new court date set for February 1, 2013.
