Arsene Wenger has seen his Arsenal team gather just one point from their last two games (both at home) but now insists that the Gunners need to get all nine points from their remaining three matches to ensure finishing the season in Third Place.
With Robin Van Persie’s goalscoring exploits seemingly evaporated as the end of the season approaches, it remains to be seen how Arsenal can overcome both Stoke and West Brom away from home, and Norwich back at the Emirates and Wenger realises that he has to get the Gunners motivated for the crucial run-in.
“We didn’t look sharp against Wigan or today,” Wenger said after yesterday’s bore-draw. “We have one week now to prepare for our next game and we are still in the driving seat but of course we have to win our next three games.”
Stoke away next week is probably going to be the hardest of the three, as the Potters have only lost four home matches all season, but with so much at stake if Arsenal fail to finish third, Wenger just has to find a winning formula by next Saturday.
